Vitiligo is a skin condition caused by lack of melanin, which causes loss of pigment cells (melanocytes) in skin. Not many people are aware of this skin condition and lack knowledge of vitiligo. The discrimination individuals with vitiligo experience is appalling.
This beautiful condition is in fact “BLESSING IN DISGUISE”.
Vitiligo UNIØUE Pattern:
Focal Vitiligo:Found to be presented as patches in a single area.
Segmental Vitiligo:Where patches are generally found on one side of the body and nowhere else.
Generalised Vitiligo ( also known as non-segmental vitiligo): They tend to affect the right and left sides of the body in a symmetrical pattern, almost like a mirror image. This is the most common type of vitiligo and is also known as ‘universal’ Vitiligo.
Acrofacial Vitiligo:This occurs mostly on the face, in the scalp, around the genitals, and on the fingers or toes.
